At Blumenort Christian Preschool, we take several field trips throughout the year. Transportation is provided by the Blumenort Church bus.  Parent Volunteers are more than welcome to join us!

The annual field trips we take include, but are not limited to:

•  Timber Trail Tree Farm
• Steinbach Fire Station

While we prioritize the care and support for all children in our program, we recognize the different developmental needs of the individual and strive to provide a positive learning environment based on those needs. In doing so, we have created opportunity for sensory support in the classrooms as well as set up a Sensory Room allowing a space for children who may require a calming multisensory environment. Being able to provide this space has been key in supporting children with a variety of sensory needs.

We work alongside families to provide care for children who require additional support and have extensive knowledge and experience working with a wide variety of developmental needs. Furthermore, we have a strong working relationship with other professionals involved in each child’s care and work together as a team to develop and work towards specific goals for each individual.

Outdoor play and learning are essential for growth and development, especially in the early years. We feel that is important to provide many outdoor play experiences for our children and can do so with our amazing Natural Outdoor Play Space. Our classes schedule outdoor playtime on a daily or weekly basis throughout each of the seasons, allowing much growth and exploration to happen. Whether it be playing in the snow in winter or stomping in the puddles in spring, so much learning happens when we allow children to explore their environment and their curiosity!

Music classes are provided by Lisa Solnik, who is an accredited music therapist (MTA). She uses a variety of singing, movement, and instrument-playing activities to teach musical skills and concepts, and facilitate musical exploration and creativity.

Specifically, children are encouraged to sing and chant with their voices, move to the music in different ways, correctly hold and play small percussion instruments, and learn basic rhythms. Classes are structured in a predictable format that includes a “Hello” and “Goodbye” song, and a combination of energetic and calming musical activities.
